This post contains SPOILERS.

We’re almost at the end, can you believe it? I certainly can’t. Thanks to breaks we’re only about a week behind the U.S. so hopefully it’ll be easy to avoid spoilers until the finale. Although I will say this, I’ve heard some amazing things about the last episode and generally, everyone seems to have enjoyed it which is really great to hear!

It wasn’t too much of a surprise when there was a cliffhanger at the end. It makes sense to have a two-part finale, especially considering this is the last time. Going in I knew there was some kind of explosion and at first, I half-expected it to be at Cam and Arastoo’s wedding, but I was really happy it wasn’t and that we were able to keep that bit of happiness.

The format with the episode with all the different points of view was interesting. There were a couple of times where it took me a moment to realise where we were on the timeline of events, but it never lasted long and generally the episode was pretty easy to follow. I liked how each point of view gave a key bit of information to the overall story and it also meant we got to focus on the lives of several characters.

I was saddened to see that Aubrey and Jessica were breaking up, but really we hadn’t seen much of them lately so it didn’t come as too much of a shock and unfortuantely it didn’t have quite the emotional impact it seemed to be going for. However, we still have one more episode and I think wherever their story goes, it’ll be satisfactory.

Cam and Arastoo’s wedding was lovely! It was lowkey enough and seemed very much both their style. Seeing everyone dancing and laughing was wonderful to watch and that bit with Christine wearing Cam’s veil was so adorable! Even with the knowledge that something was going to go wrong eventually in the episode and with Avalon’s message, it was still pleasant to watch.

That, mixed in with Zack’s success at court, added a lot of light to the episode which worked really well. Having this episode start off and be primarily happy, mixed in with the odd intense moment and finishing on such a dark, gloomy cliffhanger worked well. It’ll lead on to what will probably be an intense finale filled with dark and gloomy scenes, with the odd happy moment and no doubt finishing on a happy ending. It’ll be almost like going full circle and from what we’ve seen so far, it appears that everyone is going to go off and do their own thing and/or enter the next stage of their lives.

Really there’s not much to say about this episode. I really appreciated Christine calling Aubrey uncle, I love that Angela is pregnant again, I loved the humour around Aubrey having a hangover, I loved seeing Karen, I was highly amused by Hodgins’ drink set up at Cam and Arastoo’s wedding, and I love that Caroline did her best to get Zack off without losing her job, among many over things that happened this episode.

I feel like a lot of what I need to say will come out during the review for episode 12, but for now, this penultimate episode was really good and a fantastic set up for the end. I will never be okay with this show ending, but I get the feeling I’m going to feel really content and satisfied with its ending. We’ll have to see.
